Not a fan. I'm sure there are beautiful artisanal vodkas somewhere out there, but I'm just going to give my take on the typical vodkas that you'd find at most bars/liquor stores. To put it simply, I'd just rather drink anything else. I enjoy the act of drinking and the astringent-forward taste of vodka kills the mood. If I want a mixable white spirit, I'd much rather consume tequila or gin. Especially with martinis, always gin. Unless it’s an espresso martini, I highly recommend you substitute the vodka for tequila reposado or a nice spiced rum. Trust me. With all that said, always drink what you enjoy, this is just my opinion.
