Salsa Verde

Here's is a special salsa recipe. Simple, easy to make and delicious. One of the first recipes I learned to make and hope you try for yourself.

Ingredients

  • 3 jalapeños
  • 1 lbs. tomatillos
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 1/4 white onion
  • juice of 1 orange
  • juice of 2-3 limes
  • cilantro to taste
  • salt to taste

Method:

Began by placing your tomatillos, jalapeños, onion and garlic on a baking sheet. Broil on high until fully charred. You can control how much of a char flavor you want, just make sure your garlic doesn't burn! When your vegetables are to your liking, pull them out of the oven and immediately hit them with the orange juice. Add to a blender or a molcajete and blend. Mix in lime juice, cilantro and season with salt. Taste as you go and adjust acidity, salt and cilantro if needed. Buen provecho!
